Successful prototyping is very dependent upon selecting the right material formulation. In some cases we start with prototpyes made from different materials than the final desired part material. OxiMaTec material know how provides prototypes that can be used to check functionality, reliability and life cycle evaluation against the original desired material of the new product. Following to the prototyping phase we can supply you with small series production samples based upon the prototyping technology.
Manufacturing by pressing and milling
With our hydraulic 200 t press OxiMaTec can make the following ceramic parts:
- Cylindrical parts up to a length of 120 mm and a width of 60 mm
- Rectangular parts with maximum dimensions of 140 x 75 x 40 mm and 120 x 100 x 40 mm
The specified geometrical design is made from these pressed parts after milling or turning technologies. After firing, these parts can again be machined in order to achieve the required tolerances and surface finish.
Manufacturing by injection moulding
Our CIM-process is adapted to our injection moulding machine for making highly precise and geometrically complex parts with shot-weights up to 350 g and a wall thickness of 6 - 8 mm. Special attention is paid to avoid any defects within the injection moulding parts. Using our own binder system, especially for sub-micron and nano-scaled powders we achieve a significant ceramic property improvement compared to parts manufactured by conventional technologies. All processing steps, from raw material through the final finished part are made in house and are checked by our sophisticated quality control process procedures.
